  • Degrees in Commerce and in Law; qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Australia in 1983 and has advised clients on international tax for more than 25 years, whilst based in Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands and Cyprus. Continuously consulted by clients globally on international tax matters, such clients ranging from high net worth individuals to funds and to publicly-listed multinationals.

  • Head of International Tax, at the head office of Danske Bank, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Founded the international tax consulting division of Horwath International in The Netherlands; was extensively involved in setting up and administering Dutch entities on behalf of foreign (non-Dutch) business owners
  • In the Netherlands was a member and later the Chairman of the International Tax Committee of Horwath International. Was the editor of the Dutch chapter of each of three highly regarded loose-leaf publications on international tax, published by CCH and written by Horwath International and was on the editorial board of the same three publications.
  • Founded Sheltons, international tax consultants and corporate services in the Netherlands in 1994
  • After returning to Denmark, founded Sheltons International Tax Counsel, Sheltons Corporate Services and Sheltons International Tax Training Institute (Sheltons-SITTI)
  • Established the Sheltons office in Cyprus in 2005
  • The Sheltons corporate services division in Denmark and Cyprus both have specialist units for setting up and administering companies on behalf of foreign investors
  • Spoken at more than 40 international conferences organised by other parties, and has conducted in house & open courses in more than 30 countries on four continents, primarily on international tax subjects
  • Author of 650-page book The Interpretation and Application of Tax Treaties (at the request of Lexis Nexis / Butterworths Tolleys, UK)
  • Provides international tax training on an in-house basis to various Revenue Authorities in OECD countries, Fortune 500 companies, leading accounting and legal firms throughout the world
  • Apart from his native Australian English, Ned speaks fluent Danish and reads Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish
